Three days dedicated to the farms, barns, roads, and rhythms that make Vermont feel like Vermont.

In this seminar, Ginny Joyner guides you through painting the “Vermont vernacular”—its unique landscape and agricultural architecture, including The Landgrove Inn itself.

You’ll:

Work from photos and, weather permitting, outdoor views around the inn
Practice compositional sketching to design strong scenes
“Eyeball” perspective in a relaxed, practical way
Build value studies that set up successful final paintings

Ginny will share techniques for:

Handling foliage, texture, and cast shadows
Suggesting detail without getting lost in it
Keeping your washes fresh and expressive

The environment is intentionally welcoming and non-judgmental, making it ideal for returning painters and those stretching into new territory.

You’ll leave with sketches, studies, and finished pieces that capture the feel of Vermont—and skills you can carry into landscapes and townscapes back home.

The optional closing dinner with the artist along with an additional night stay and breakfast the next morning are not included. The final night can be added when booking based your travel arrangements. Most participants add the extra night.

This package is non-refundable. With greater than 60 days before the workshop, the fees paid may be transferred to another workshop or stay at The Landgrove. From 31-60 days out, there is a 20% service charge to transfer the credit to another workshop or stay. The service charge is 35% of the booking value from 7-30 days before the workshop, and 75% with less than a week before the booking.
